My 168 Hour Food-free Period in December 2021
On the plate before me is the sum total of what I’ve eaten for the last 7 days and I am so much the better for it. This picture was taken 167 hours after my last bite of food. Look at that smile! Look at that clear complexion (due to autophagy)! Look, half my wrinkles are gone (due to gluconeogenesis)! This is not a picture of a starving man. For 168 hours my body was free of food and free to clean itself and begin healing 70 years of insults to it.
What I Did
I eschewed food for a whole week and intend to do it again next July. For those who know I’m foolhardy, stupid or insane, (you are right, but) stay with me for the list of just a few of the benefits of doing so. I am going to share my 168 hour food-free period diary with you (if you so choose) with explanation and sources over the next couple of weeks.
According to two specialists, one a cardiologist (heart specialist) for forty years and the other a Canadian nephrologist (liver expert) I reduced my risk of getting cancer by 70%! According to another MD I turned off my genetic predisposition to cancer. In my Father’s family, riddled by cancer and death, that’s something. According to all of these experts in the latest research, I killed most , if not all of the cancer cells I may have had because they are the first to die from lack of glucose for such an extended time. I didn’t take this drastic step just for cancer control though. There are several other life-promoting reasons listed below.
The Benefits of My Having Done So
According to the experts I will cite in the course of these posts I have:
Lowered my cancer risk by 70%!,
Reset my immune system,
Reset my microbiome. I have a rejuvenated digestive system,
Increased my body’s production of human growth hormone,
Recycled old/dead cell organelles for rejuvenation,
Made new brain cells,
Increased my metabolic rate,
Decreased inflammation in my joints,
Lowered my insulin levels,
Burned excess fat,
My genetic expression has increased (Be all you can be), yet predisposition to cancer genes were turned off. This is some of the most fascinating research,
I know I have new-looking skin (for an older person that’s something!) My skin shows a significant clearing of warts, tags and wrinkles and it’s smooth as silk,
And I didn’t have to pay anyone any money.
How I Prepared
This project is not about anorexia or body image issues. It’s about stripping away all, or as many as possible, of the toxins, dead cell parts, whole cancer cells, and recyclable entities in my body. It was not taken on as a lark. This is serious business. I didn’t just do this. I prepared. Here’s how:
11 years of avoiding carbohydrates like the poison they are.
6 months of “intermittent fasting” (IF); just another name for food-free periods (FFP). Basically it is making certain you go 16-20 hours between the last bite of a meal and the first bite of the next.
6 months of once-a-week 32 hour food-free periods: Monday 8pm (fork down) until Wednesday 4pm (let’s eat!)
6 monthly 84 hour FFPs: Monday 8 pm (fork down) until Friday at 4pm (I usually eat some vegetable soup to introduce my body to food again.)
Don’t attempt extended food-free periods without preparing your body first. You will suffer withdrawal, nausea, headaches, discomfort for no reason. Start by becoming carbohydrate-free. You will enjoy so many benefits you will have motivation to explore how leaving food behind for most of the time is a way to freedom from disease, chores and gravity.

All of the health benefits and no financial outlay! In fact, you’ll save as much as you normally spend on food in a week and every month you spend working up to this point you’ll be saving money by not buying carbs. Then, progressing to skipping a meal a week, to a meal a day to skipping two meals a day. By the time you are eating one meal a day, and additionally, skipping a whole day’s meals once a week, and observing a three day meal free-period once a month you’ll be saving a bundle, also making yourself eligible for a seven day fast twice a year.
Your Health is Your Responsibility. Many recommend a doctor’s supervision on such a long fast. I consulted many highly qualified and experienced doctors’ lectures and essays. Do your own research. This is not a criticism of people who eat carbs as much as a condemnation of the faulty science and political manipulation that has allowed the food industry to substitute profit for nutrition and convince everyone that their lethal products are healthful.
